Mud run

 WALT: Try something new.

Today Room one and some other schools went to south Brighton domain to do a tough run (Mud run), we ran over some tires and then we went through a obstacle bouncy castle. Then we ran through a forest part for a while, and then ended up at this part where you had to climb over gates and climb under ropes. After that, we ran through more forest and ended up by the eastery and climbed under a net, and then we ran through the water where we splashed everyone else.

Then we had to go under the bridge, I ended up hitting my back on the bridge, it hurt! Then we kept going until we reached the otherside. We got out at the end of the bridge and ran back along it. Then there was a muddy section just off the bridge, where we ended up at another mud rope obstacle. After that we then we went through more mud and I fell over.

Then we ran for a while an did a big loop in the water. Then we got out at the other end and ran further down to another water loop. Then ahead of us we saw a slip in slide with a foam machine, I slid across that. We went and jumped in a little paddling pool, there were 5 of them. Then the finish line was in sight, we ran to the finish line. As we crossed the line we got sprayed by a fire truck.

Volcano Eruption

WALT: See the vinegar and baking soda reaction.

In room one, we have been making volcano's out of paper mache. We first put a bottle in the middle of the piece of paper and then got strips of paper, dunk them in glue and then stuck them on in the shape of a volcano.

After they were dried, we painted them so they would look more like volcanos.

After they dried, we took them out to the domain. We sat down in a circle, the teacher came around and filled our volcano's up 2/3s of the way with water, then she put baking soda in. After that she came around with vinegar and poured it in. This made an eruption.

We watched as they slowly leaked down the volcano.

Next time,  I would make the last layer thicker as the paint went through.

Have you made a baking soda and vinegar volcano before?
